The Isle of Man Government is committed to ensuring that the Island continues to be an attractive, economically competitive place to do business. It also aims to enhance the services it offers to citizens and use technology innovatively to enhance its position as the e-island. As part of its Joined UP Information for The Electronic Resident (JUPITER) programme, Treasury’s Information Systems Division (ISD) reviewed its IT infrastructure and identified a requirement to move to a standard platform of Windows and to consolidate over 300 servers into 2 data centers. Wandsworth Council made an early decision to undertake ISO27001 certification because of the benefits that it would bring to the Council in terms of the assurance of secure operating practices, both internally and to partner organisations and service users.

ISO27001 certification is required by the Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS) to demonstrate effective information security management.
